Grand Strategy is a CVE Certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business. Grand Strategy’s President and owner, Greg Fones, is a former U.S. Army Ranger who served during the Vietnam War era. Fones incurred a disability as a result of his service in the U.S. military but persevered by using the GI Bill further his college education.
As good fortune would have it, on Mr. Fones’ last day in the Army he was headed home on a commercial flight and began talking with a fellow passenger. That passenger, a former Air Force Colonel, was impressed by Mr. Fones and talked him into working for him at a nuclear power plant in Mr. Fones’ hometown area of Tri-Cities, Washington. That conversation allowed him to develop a 30 year career as a nuclear and fossil power plant consultant.
Fones areas of expertise included Quality Assurance/Quality Control, Project Management and manufacturing oversight. Fones served on the ASME NQA-1 National Committee with responsibilities to establish Quality Assurance Standards with which all Nuclear Power plants are mandated to comply. Fones is now the President of Grand Strategy, a natural culmination of his leadership abilities, service dedication, and business expertise.
